Mobile Therapy for Pregnancy

We first started offering pregnancy massage in our Mangawhai clinic and as a mobile service over 15 years ago after working with local midwives who told us this was something that did not exist in our region. In a lot of ways it felt very obvious to us that there should be a bodywork service that focuses on nurturing touch for pregnant mothers and we wanted to provide a space where women could access more personalised care and support that was bespoke to their needs.

We quickly learnt how wildly diverse and unique everyone’s experience is. It was clear that physical comfort was top of the list when it came to supporting our Mamas, and so our specialised pregnancy bed, allowing for face down positioning, ensures that safety and comfort is available at all stages of pregnancy. Training in pregnancy massage techniques, along with positioning, and a thorough understanding of the needs of a pregnant body, allows for complete care throughout the treatment.

We have been grateful to be able to develop a space for us to provide authentic, bespoke pregnancy massage, focusing on individual women and giving them support that seems to make a massive difference to their experience of prenatal and postnatal care both physically and emotionally.

In our local area, which extends from Matakana to Waipu, we offer our mobile service to support women to deeply relax as they await labour during their last few days or weeks of pregnancy.
